Remy's First Birthday!

I can't believe that its been a year already! Time goes by so fast when you are busy and with 3 kids, so clearly I've been forgetting to write. I'm sorry.
So we had a super fun birthday party with just a few friends and a ton of balloons. I've realized that kids will be happy if you just have a ton of balloons. Hahahah.

I was just excited to buy baby stuff again! HA. Logan just turned 9 so he's all about video games and whatnot but its fun to shop for Remy.
I was looking at these Gather playmats for him for awhile so I went for it and got one.
They are so well made! its just a big leather mat that you can fold up and wipe off if you spill something, and Remy usually is throwing his food around. So the mat is amazing, even the big kids play on it. Logan is playing on it as I write this. I also got some really cool handmade wooden toys from Bannor Toys.

They have every state made into a little rattle toy. They are super adorable and Remy loves his.

I also got the boys some personalized chalkboard from Chalk Full of Design to practice their names, Dylan was having some trouble with his "e"s. They are really cute and you can reuse them! They came with a chalkboard pen, so you can just write on the boards and then wipe them off with a baby wipe.
And we alll know that as moms we use baby wipes you clean up just about everything. HA.
So there it is, a month late but still. HAPPY BIRTHDAY REMY!!

Getting ready for Easter

I have been getting ready for Easter all week. Shopping and cleaning the house all the good stuff. My mom, brother and in-laws will be here tomorrow. We are having a Easter egg hunt and lunch tomorrow. So today I making coconut cake!! One of my favorites. I like to make it at Easter and Christmas. It's white and fluffy and delicious. I want some now just writing about it! Haha.

This is my menu for the weekend :)
Broccoli and Cheese
Peanut Butter Eggs
Slow Cooker Ham
Macaroni and Cheese
Coconut Cake
My mom is brining deviled eggs and my mother-in-law is bringing Tyler's favorite baked beans.
I can't wait!! Woo!!
And don't forget the kids stuff. I filled the eggs and the baskets. Maybe I went a little overboard.....

I even ordered a hoodie for Tyler, which he has yet to pick up. Weirdo.

Joe Fresh

If I knew there was something new and awesome for me just sitting at a store, I would pick it up right away!!! But then again I love new clothing :)
The only thing I didn't get to do is hang my new wallpaper in the foyer. I started to strip the paint on the wood and it turned into a HUGE mess. So I will have to get back to that after the holiday. Most DIY is try and fail I think ;)

I hope everyone has a delicious, fun, loving family weekend.

Welcome, Easter Bunny

Time for more DIY decorations!! Yay!
I want to make stuff that I can use every year. And I wanted to make a banner for Easter. Or as Logan says, 'a sign for the Easter bunny'. Hahaha.
They are selling one at Pottery Barn. So I just looked at those measurement and did my own. After making this banner I want to make one for the boys birthdays. It was so easy!

I bought 3 different types of materials. 2 for the pennant and one for the letters.

I cut out a pattern from a piece of paper. And cut out 11 pieces of the burlap.
H A P P Y E A S T E R- 11.
Another 11 of the brown just a little smaller than the burlap.

Then I cut out the letters.

Then I hot glued everything together!
I put a brown piece on top of a burlap piece.

.
Put hot glue along the top and fold over the twine. Just pull the twine threw the pennant if it gets glued in.

I used twine but you could use string or ribbon.

Then glue the letters on.
I found it easier to set the letter on the pennant where you want it. Then put glue on the bottom of the letter and put into place. Put glue on the rest of the letter.

I really like it. It's not perfect and kinda rustic. And it is huge. It's over 100" long!

I definitely think the Easter bunny will be satified :)
My kids are also at ages that they really like holidays. So I'm excited to give them their Easter baskets and to do an Easter egg hunt in our back yard.
I already did some shopping. I got them these retro toys for their basket.

I remember both of these toys fondly. I actually remember playing with the clock at church every Sunday.

I hope the kids enjoy them as much as I did.
